ERA-NET SusAn call for proposals on sustainable animal production

In collaboration with the JPI-FACCE, the ERA-NET SusAn (Sustainable Animal Production) is launching its first call for transnational research proposals.

This co-funded call for research is open to transnational research proposals which take a systems and interdisciplinary approach to research to address multiple objectives under the following three Research Areas:

  • Improving the productivity, resilience and competitiveness of European Animal Production
  • Improving and managing resource use to reduce waste and enhancing the environmental sustainability of European animal production
  • Improving on-farm practices to enhance consumer acceptability and addressing societal challenges associated with animal welfare, product quality and safety, biodiversity and provision of ecosystem services

The submission deadline for pre-proposals is 29 March 2016 at 12 noon.

An ERA NET SusAn information meeting is organised for INRA scientists on 10 February 2016, from 9h30 to 12h30 at INRA, 147 rue de l’Université, 75007 Paris.

The Joint Research Programming Initiative on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change (JPI FACCE) was launched by the European Council in October 2010. Coordinated by INRA, it brings together 21 European and associated countries to increase their research capacities to address the vital challenge of ensuring sufficient production of food, as well as feed, fibres and bio-fuels, in the context of demographic growth and a changing climate.
