Towards sustainable food production: the SUSFOOD ERA-Net

SUSFOOD ERA-Net: first call for projects

The SUSFOOD ERA-Net launched its first call for transnational projects in February 2013.

Three themes were opened for this call for projects:

  • Improvements in the efficiency of resource use (raw materials, energy, water) and fluxes (inputs, waste, by-products) for food processing. 
  • Innovation in the field of food processing and products. 
  • Analysis of consumer behaviour to encourage the sustainability of food choices.

98 pre-proposals were submitted.  Nine projects were funded, for a total budget of €10 million.
