INRA stand: Pavilion 4, Aisle B, stand n°80

The 54th International Agricultural Show will be held from 25 February to 5 March 2017 on the theme "Farming: a passion, a set of ambitions".

On the stand

INRA scientists will meet with the public and professionals to explore new microbial worlds, which have an essential role for our environment and health, from soil to the intestine.
A microorganism or microbe is a living organism, invisible to the naked eye, which can only be observed under microscope. Microorganisms constitute approximately 50% of the biomass of the entire biosphere and represent major challenges in the following fields: agriculture and livestock farming, climate change, animal and human health, food and nutrition, production of renewable energy, depollution, waste treatment. This year INRA has chosen to present its results in these fields and to show the transversality and multidisciplinarity of this research.
Where do we find microbes? What are they? What purpose do they serve? More than 150 scientists from 18 research units will be present on the 300m2 INRA stand to answer these questions, centred around:

  • microbes in humans and animals
  • microbes in plants and natural and cultivated environments
  • microbes in food and biotechnologies

Information on opportunities for recruitment at INRA will be available on the stand.
Editions Quae will be present on the stand with a selection of their books.

The symposium

A scientific symposium on the theme "People, Animals and the Environment: One Health" will be held on Tuesday 28 February from 14h30 to 18h.
Venue: Pavilion 1.1, Espace 2000
