The Department is organised according to three levels:

A management team, including the Head of Department, researchers and the General Secretary.

"Scientific" and "Administrative" boards participating in the scientific, collective and administrative decision-making of the Department.

Research Units, specific or joint, based on experimental units.

As well as this organisation, the Department has set up different structures for the various scientific activities involving a number of units, particularly those concerning the major plant species.
