Key Focus Area Research Activities

It considers the availability of sequences of an increasing number of genomes including those of livestock. An accent is placed on comparative mapping between species, on polymorphisms (SNP in particular) and their structure, on bioinformatics, on the analysis of gene expression and on the functional organisation of the nucleus.

It includes methodological developments such as the analysis of expression data or the use of linkage disequilibrium for fine mapping. But it is mainly concentrated on the analysis of traits that are considered to be essential for a lasting agricultural production : disease resistance, behaviour, fine composition and product quality. This direction per function is aimed at species comparison, in particular livestock and model species. This CT also includes research on biomedical models.

The CT3 concerns methods of population management.
The goal here is improvement with a sustainable use of resource variability and conservation.
