Interdisciplinary Partnerships
© INRA Thus, for example important phenotypic descriptions cannot be obtained without working with physiologists, including nutritionists, pathologists or technologists. Our network of experimental units and our animal models are therefore systematically available for important multidisciplinary programmes.
Our most natural partner is the Animal Physiology and Breeding Systems Division, with whom we have several research units and experimental units in common. We lead research programmes in reproduction, behaviour, nutrition, muscle and meat, fat metabolism, and dairy production.
A second important partner is the Animal Health Division wtih whom we work together with in immunogenetics, the analysis of host-pathogen relations and genetic resistance to pathologies (bacteria, viruses, parasites, prions). These two divisions also share our common tools, in particular genomics tools.
Collaborations also exist with the CEPIA Division, in charge of product transformation, in particular concerning meat quality, and with the ALIMH Division, in charge of human nutrition with which we share a research unit.
Finally, we have developed methodological collaborations with the Mathematics and Applied Informatics and Genetics and Plant Improvement Divisions. We also seek additional expertise in all of INRA's division, in particular in Ecology and Wild Population Biology (EFPA), Microbiology (MICA) and Economy and Sociology (SAD, SAE2).
One third of our scientific articles are cosigned by scientists from other INRA divisions, half of them with the PHASE Division.
