The Animal Genetics Division Research Facilities

The research facilities are located on different sites. The main sites are Jouy-en-Josas near Paris (50% of our scientists), Toulouse (35% of our scientists) and Guadeloupe. The other research teams or units are established for the most part, in association with partners (other INRA Divisions, agronomy and veterinary schools, universities, other research organisations). The experimental facilities include 12 farms distributed over the western half of France and one unit situated in Guadeloupe working on both multidisciplinary studies and studies on animal production in tropical climate.
► 3 Research Units : With varying competencies from quantitative to molecular genetics, our research units are complementary and often collaborate in multidisciplinary studies associating several research units, other divisions and even other organisations. One of these units belong to both the AG Division and the PHASE Division.

► 6 Joint Research Units
in association with agronomy schools (AgroParisTech, Agrocampus) and veterinary schools (Toulouse, Alfort), universities (Bordeaux, Limoges) or other research organisations (CEA, CNRS).

13 Experimental Units
whose first mission is to lead multidisciplinary or genetic experiments. They also contribute to the conservation of genetic resources, education and development of the regions.

2 Service Units : The Genetic Data Processing Centre (CTIG) is the calculation centre of the Division working in animal selection. One unit manages the European Network of Excellence EADGENE.

The Division is also a partner in research consortia (units with contracts, economically and scientifically important groups, GDR, IFR).
