[R]Identification
Colonies 1 mm in diameter at 5 days, 2 - 3 mm at 7 - 8 days. They are convex and pale yellow.

[R]Description
Foci occur in rows and manifest irreversible one way wilting at first, then generalised wilt starting with the base.
Browning of the neighbouring vessels and tissues.
Open canker on the petioles.
The fruits fall.

[R]Biology
The bacterium survives on debris in the soil, on various objects (pots, irrigation system, etc.), on glasshouse equipment, on seeds and tools.
Spreading through rain, watering sprinklers, fertilizers on the soil surface, cutting and defoliation.
Penetration through the lesions after cutting, through the roots and the stomata.

[R]Epidemiology
Development of the disease occurs at 18 - 24 °C. with RH over 80 %.
Favoured by humid conditions.

[R]Treatement
Crop rotation recommended.
Use healthy seeds after immunofluorescence test.
Remove debris.
Disinfect the cutting tools.
