[R]Description
On the trunk and main branches globose lesions and distorsions occur.
The cankers start as elongated sunken areas extending to several decimeters after 2 - 3 years.
The canker may girdle the affected part which suffers die-back.

[R]Biology
This fungus is a wound parasite. It penetrates through the pruning wounds.
Pycnidia form on the distorted margins of the cut.

[R]Epidemiology
Humidity facilitates the spread of the disease.

[R]Treatement
Remove the affected twigs.
Cut out the cankered lesions and apply the disinfecting and healing products locally recommended.
