[R]Description
Little angular clear-cut spots (1 - 2 mm diameter) streak the leaves, then coalesce and result in large areas of dead leaf tissue. Leaves fall prematurely.
Lesions can also occur on petioles, fruits and peduncles.
[R]Biology
The fungus survives in dead leaves.
In spring, apothecia are formed and their ascospores cause the primary infections.
Acervuli develop at the center of the leaf spots. The resulting conidia are dispersed by rain splash. The spread of the parasite is essentially conidial.
[R]Epidemiology
Sporulation and dissemination occur at an optimum of 16 - 24 °C. in rainy conditions.
[R]Treatement
Spray the locally recommended fungicide right after blossoming and then periodically according to the characteristics of the site.
