White powdery spots occur on both surfaces of the leaves and sometimes on petioles and stems.
[R]Biology
There is little knowledge about the survival of this fungus. Conidial persistence (Oidium) was reported on early or late Cucurbit crops granting the relai as well as on weed hosts. Dispersal by the wind and the droughts.
[R]Epidemiology
The optimum temperature favouring the development of the disease is 23 - 26 °C. in conditions of high RH.
[R]Treatement
Chemical control : spray contact or systemic fungicide.
Use resistant cultivars.
