[R]Identification
.

[R]Description
This fungus is often accompanied by Fusarium moniliforme , it attacks the roots and causes the yellowing and wilting of the infected plants.
The affected tendrils show isolated necrotic areas on the roots which may develop into severe rot.
This fungus causes widespread die-back in asparagus crops.

[R]Biology
Within the parasitic complex it forms with F. moniliforme , this fungus is the only one to infect the root vascular system.
It can be transmitted by contaminated tendrils or through an already highly infested soil.

[R]Epidemiology
High temperature and humid conditions facilitate the spread of the disease.

[R]Treatement
Preventive treatment by dipping the tendrils in a fungicide mixture.
Disinfect the soil.
