Over the whole crop small white powdery spots occur giving leaves and stems a white silvery appearance.
This sudden outbreak causes no loss and often comes after a rapid development of the crop or lodging.

The fungus produces conidia.
The sexual form is not reported.

Mild temperatures and high RH favour the epidemics.
