Identification, Description, Biology, Epidemiology, Treatement, Possible misleading, Images

[R]Identification
.

[R]Description
On leaves many little pale green spots (1-2mm diameter) occur, surrounded by a yellow halo.
The center of the lesion becomes necrotic and can drop out later.
Wet vesicles cover the lower surface of the leaves.

[R]Biology
The bacterium survives in seeds or in infected crop debris.
The first foci appear in the seedlings causing necrosis in the cotyledons.
Secondary foci are generated by rain-driven inoculum.
The pathogen enters through the natural openings on foliage and through the wounds, it can persist in the buds and thus become a permanent source of inoculum.

[R]Epidemiology
Wet periods with moderate temperatures favour the development of the disease.

[R]Treatement
Use healthy seeds.
Ensure sufficient rotations.
Sow in dry areas.
Monitor irrigation.
