[R] Vicia sativa L. (Fabacae).
Fr: Vesce; Ge: Futterwicke; Pt: Ervilhaça; Sp: Alverja; It: Veccia.

- Annual forage legume, 40 to 80 cm in height(*) , chiefly pollinated by bees because it produces much nectar.
- Winter varieties are often grown together with rye, barley, oats or winter wheat; they are sown in September-October and harvested in June. Spring varieties are frequently planted with spring oats and harvested in July-August.
