Trichogramma

[R] Hymenoptera Trichogrammatidae. These oophagous insects are parasitoids. Larvae develop inside the egg of the host, which soon dies. Certain species are agents of inundative biological control and are especially used to fight the European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis), the vine moth (Lobesia botrana) and the grape bud moth (Eupoecilia ambiguella).
