[R]Description
- Adult: 1.8-2.4 mm long; brownish-yellow, pale green or brown, with a large black spot situated dorsally on the abdomen and 2 or 3 black stripes at the tip; siphunculi black, thick and cylindrical; rostrum long and reaching hind coxae.

[R]Biology
- Primary hosts: cherry, plum and apricot. Aphids migrate to various wild and cultivated Compositae, including artichoke, chrysanthemum, mayweed (Matricaria), groundsel (Senecio) and various Borraginaceae and are similar to the leaf-curling plum aphid (Brachycaudus helichrysi), which is characterized by its green colour.

[R]Damage
- Leaves undergo severe curling. Dense colonies occur at the base of flower heads and on the leaves.
