[R] Small order of mammals once included in the Rodentia. They differ from the latter in having 2 pairs of upper incisors, which are greatly reduced and placed next to the posterior surface of large characteristic incisors. This order includes only hares (European hare , Lepus europaeus) and rabbits (European rabbit , Oryctolagus cuniculus).
