[R] Birds of the order Passeriformes. They build closed nests situated in cavities or hanging on twigs and provided with an opening at the base or lower part. Essentially sedentary, these birds have a short, thick and conical beak and short wings.
The house sparrow
(Passer domesticus) is a worldwide distributed pest. Along with it, the Spanish sparrow (Passer hispaniolensis Temmark) causes damage in the south of Europe and in Northern Africa.
