Systematics

This species was originally described in the genus Casandria (Catocalinae), although it belongs obviously to the Sarrothripinae. According to the structure of the male genitalia, we place it in the genus Motya.

Biology and distribution

Two specimens caught in Martinique (Presqu'île de la Caravelle).

Panama (type specimen of M. flotsama), French Guyana.
