Junonia evarete and Junonia genoveva are confused (under the name evarete) in many works until 1985 (Turner P.W. & Parnell J.R., 1985, J. Res. Lep., 24: 142-153).

Biology and distribution

Larva on Stachytarpheta (Verbenaceae), Ruellia tuberosa and Blechum (Acanthaceae) in Jamaica (Turner & Parnell, 1985).

One of the commonest butterflies in Guadeloupe and Martinique.
St-Martin, St-Bartholomew, les Saintes, Marie Galante.

Throughout the Antilles.

Florida, and from Central America to the north of South America.
