Biology and distributionLarva on Rubiaceae from hygrophilic zones (Palicourea, Psychotria, Spermacoce).
Very common in Guadeloupe and Martinique, in hygrophilic and mesophilic zones. The most abundant hawk-moth in Guadeloupe.
St-Kitts.
Throughout the Lesser Antilles (not in dry islands).
Greater Antilles: X. chiron chiron (Drury 1770).
From Mexico to Argentina: X. chiron necchus (Cramer 1779).
