Biometrics and Artificial Intelligence Unit - Toulouse

Director : Roger Martin-Clouaire
Secretary : Pascale Fauré

The goal of the unit is to develop and apply statistics and artificial intelligence methods for:

analysing and managing production systems and physical resources
analysing the structure and functioning of genomes

Fields of research concern the prediction of system behaviour at different spatial scales, decision support in systems management and bioinformatics.

This research is also promoted by the development of corresponding software together with training programmes to encourage their distribution.

In statistics, the skills brought into play cover the full range of inferential techniques for estimation and prediction in linear models (mixed or generalised), mixture models and temporal or spatial processes.

In artificial intelligence, the skills involved cover constraint satisfaction, fuzzy or uncertain knowledge representation, planning and learning for decision-making in uncertain contexts.
