Joint Research Unit for Statistics and Genome - Evry

Director : Christophe Ambroise
Secretary : Michèle Ilbert

The laboratory develops statistical methods for processing genome data, principally those used for analysing biological sequences (DNA or proteins): identifying regular sequences, significant words or motifs, assistance with annotation (searching for genes, exons/introns, etc.).

The principal tools are based on the theory of Markov chains and hidden Markov chains.
