CLIMASTER, a new program for the unit!

Climaster is an interdisciplinary program conducted by the UMR SAS and the CAREN in the framework of PSDR-GO. More than 20 research units and regional stakeholders are working together on the following topic: interactions between climatic changes, agricultural systems, natural resources, and territorial development.

The main objective is to help the regional stakeholders to anticipate the future changes and the consequences in landscape and water management and agricultural practices.  The objective is to share tools for long term observatories, practices analysis and common knowledge of the impacts of the climatic changes.

The program is organised in 4 work packages

  • Evaluation of the climatic changes (CC) at an inter-regional level.
  • Analyse of the impact of the CC on the agricultural systems. The topic is to analyse the actual changes (adaptation and anticipation) due to the climatic factors.
  • Analyse of the direct and differed impacts of CC on the natural resources (water, soils, biodiversity).
  • Transverse and operational approach: analyse of the stakeholders (farmers, water managers…) from a sociological and psycho-sociological perspective. Scenario building-up. This approach will be done on different study cases (coastal zone, catchment, buffer zones…)
