Biology and distribution

Larva not found in the field, but reared on Amaranthus in Guadeloupe.

Common in Guadeloupe and Martinique. More abundant in hygrophilic zone.

St-Kitts, Montserrat, Dominica, St-Lucia, St-Vincent, Grenada.
Throughout Greater Antilles: (Jamaica: type specimen of S. rubrifusa).

The sex pheromone produced by the female moths has been described without biological evaluation (B. Lalanne-Cassou, C. Descoins, C. Malosse: unpublished data) on females from Guadeloupe. It consists of:
