Biology and distribution

Polyphagous larva, frequently found on Amaranthus in Guadeloupe.

Fairly common everywhere in Guadeloupe (type specimen of S. putrida) and Martinique.

Dominica.
Throughout Greater Antilles (Jamaica: type specimen of S. ignobilis, Puerto-Rico: type specimen of S. recondita).

From the south of the United States to Argentina.
