Description

The female moth has uniformly grey forewings, like Erinnyis ello.

Biology and distribution

Larva on papaya (Carica papaya, Caricaceae), and Asclepiadaceae.

Uncommon, in Guadeloupe and Martinique.
Marie-Galante, St-Martin (Pinchon), St-Bartholomew.
E. obscura is perhaps the species reported from Petit-Bourg by d'Aguilar under the name E. domingonis (see also E. oenotrus).

Throughout the Antilles.

From United States to Uruguay.
