[R] Family of the order Heteroptera; scutellum covering half the abdomen. Almost all pentatomids are phytophagous. Both sexes have the property of stridulation and are also able to eject an obnoxious fluid.
Important Pentatomidae: the red cabbage bug (Eurydema ornatum), the green cabbage bug (Eurydema oleracerum) and the ..... (Palomena prasina).
